Once upon a time, a dog lived away from the city. He was very greedy by nature. Due to his greedy nature, he had to face trouble many times, but even then he never learned from them. One afternoon he was very hungry. He began to use all his pants to find things to eat. There was a wooden bridge next to his house. He crossed that bridge and started going to the city. He thought that he would definitely get something to eat in the city.
On reaching the city, he wandered around in search of food. Soon he reached a Butcher’s shop. Just then, he saw a juicy piece of bone.
He said, “Wow! How lucky I am, it looks like a delicious bone.” He escaped from there taking that piece of bone.
He runs towards his house, holding that piece of bone in his mouth. As he began to cross that wooden bridge, he saw his shadow into the water. He felt that another dog is standing in the water, which also has a piece of bone in its mouth.
The greedy dog said to himself, “How nice would it be if I grabbed that piece of bone from that dog, then I would have two pieces of bone and I would eat it with great pleasure”.
As the greedy dog moved forward, his shadow also moved forward and as he opened his mouth to bark, the bone in his mouth fell into that water. The splashing of the bone in the water made it clear to the greedy dog that the dog appearing in the water was nobody else but his shadow.
Once again he had to lose his piece of bone due to his greedy nature. Now he had nothing left but regrets. Presently, he had to stay hungry.
